Allan Powell is an award-winning architect and Life fellow of the Australian Institute of Architecture. He is the Design Principal and Director of Powell & Glenn. Allan is widely recognised for his work over the past four decades designing major Australian cultural institutions, landmark public buildings, restaurants, hotels and private dwellings including the TarraWarra Museum of Art and The Prince of Wales Hotel. Powell’s designs reflect his innate understanding of contemporary architectural form through light, space, site, design and operational contexts. Allan has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Melbourne; a Masters of Architecture from RMIT and a PhD in Architecture from RMIT.

Powell & Glenn Design Principal and Director Ed Glenn has worked closely with Allan Powell on the design and delivery of projects since 2001. Early on in his career his path crossed with Powell’s and a unique partnership has developed. Glenn has worked with Powell on major projects including the TarraWarra Museum of Art, RMIT Bundoora, Monash University and Clemenger BBDO. The collaboration with Powell has evolved with Ed being appointed Design Director in 2008 and Principal in 2014 when the practice was renamed Powell & Glenn as part of the new partnership. Ed has a Bachelor of Planning and Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Melbourne. He is a Registered Architect with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria.
