Farm House

(2010) On a spectacular site, the decision was made to locate the house halfway down a prominent hill. The lower siting lifted the silhouette of a nearby hill which emphasised the dramatic undulating topography of the land, also helping to minimise the impact of the prevailing winds. The house is sequence of spacial experiences created inside and between a  pavilion, much like a shearing shed, a concrete wine cellar and the excavated earth. A large, cultivated internal courtyard is allows the paddocks to meet the building envelope on all external faces.
